Apply Workplace Safety and Health in Metal Work

Participants will be able to recognize the common safety hazards at construction site, know the preventive measures to be adopted, confident in working at height and be aware on the importance of observing safety signs and safe work procedures including their rights and responsibilities.

  • Workplace safety and health legal obligations and other organisational requirements.
  • Rights and responsibilities of a worker stipulated by the Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Act.
  • Rights and responsibilities of a worker stipulated by the Employment Act, Workplace Injury Compensation Act.
  • Common safety signs in a factory.
  • Common workplace hazards in a factory.
  • Types of risk control measures.
  • Components of “Permit-to-Work (PTW).
  • Types of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Proper usage and maintenance of PPE
  • Organisation’s emergency fire drill.
  • Different classes of extinguisher rating system
  • Types and applications of various fire extinguishers.
  • Correct technique in putting out fires.

Who to Attend: The “Apply Safety and Health in Metal Work” is a mandatory WSH training course for all workers in metal working. Be medically fit and 18 years above.

Medium: English, Chinese, Tamil, Bengali, Hindi, Malay, Thai, Burmese

Pre-Requisite:

  • Have employment status as manual labour to carry out work in a factory engaged in the manufacture of basic metals, fabricated metal products, machinery or equipment and electrical machinery and apparatus
  • Participant must be able to read, write, speak and to manipulate numbers at a proficiency level equivalent to Employability Skills (ES) level 2 (The language in which the course is conducted).
  • Have good organisational skills
  • Be able to follow written and oral work instructions
  • Be medically fit.

Course Duration: 9.5 hours, inclusive assessment

Assessment: MCQ and practical.

Attendance: 100%

Certification: Upon Successful completion of the course August International Pte Ltd card will be rewarded.
