Confined Space Management (Formerly known as Confined Space Assesor )

Provides knowledge and skills for the use of appropriate gas testing equipment and methods, to obtain representative results for the assessment of atmospheric condition in confined space for safe entry and work. The skills and knowledge covered will enable the learners to be appointed as confined space safety assessor under the relevant regulations.

Content:

  • Prepare for confined space assessment
  • Identify hazards and take measures in confined space
  • Conduct gas testing to ascertain the atmospheric condition in the confined space is safe for entry
  • Participate in risk control and emergency response for entry into and working in a confined space
  • Monitor the confined space conditions and control measures for safe working

Who to Attend: (a) Individual who intend to become a confined space safety assessor (b) Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) professionals such as WSH Coordinators, Officers, and Auditors(c) Occupational Hygiene (OH) professionals such as OH technicians etc.

Legal Requirement: Under regulation 9(B) of WORKPLACE SAFETY AND HEALTH (CONFINED SPACES) REGULATIONS 2009: “Before any person enters or works in a confined space, it shall be the duty of his responsible person to -appoint a person whom the responsible person reasonably believes is competent to carry out the duties of a confined space safety assessor”

Pre-requisite:

WSQ Employability Skills Workplace Literacy Level 6; or Grade C6 in GCE ‘O’ Level for English.

WSH Skills / Working experience requirements: 
A)   WSH Skills & Knowledge equivalent to Certificate in WSH / BCSS / SSSC / BISH / SWSPP / SWCSO  or


B)   3Years of relevant working experience in operations and co-ordination of safety work. 

 

Assesment: Written questioning (MCQ, case study,short question),Demonstration,Oral questioning,

Attendance: 100% attendance

Certification: Upon completion of the course and passing the examination & assessment, WSQ certificate will be rewarded to the personal
